HOLA!
We're Nick & Micadyn. Thanks for visiting our blog page. Micadyn is writing this first post just so you know whose point of view this is coming from. The past three years of our lives have been full of adventures. About three years ago at a typical High School baseball game we met each other for the first time. I remember it was a chilly spring day and I was sitting there on the bleachers by myself, not knowing who to talk to, when Nick so kindly offered me a seat next to him and shared his blanket with me. We started talking, and it was like we were already best friends.
This is Nick writing now... Micadyn's kind of tired tonight and is falling asleep so I'll continue the story. ;) So ever since that game, Micadyn and I have always gotten along so well. This event is important to us because it was the first time we ever had an actual conversation. I mean, we knew each other before from school and stuff, but this is where we really clicked and started to get to know each other. Well spring flew by and summer came. So we all went our separate ways for the summer. My friend Bronson and I kind of disappeared from everyone else that summer because we were busy with work, and if we weren't working, we were wakeboarding. It wasn't until August of that summer when I saw Micadyn again at Bear Lake during Raspberry days. We hung out while we were up there for a little while and had a great time. It was a good trip to end the summer off. School then started a couple weeks later. So it was my senior year and Micadyn's junior year. We ended up going on a few dates and hung out a couple times and then we had the opportunity to go to homecoming together. That dance was a great time! I remember it like it was yesterday. That's when I truly fell head over heels for Micadyn. That night we had our very first kiss. :) After that dance I’m not sure what happened, but we didn't hang out or date too much after that until that December around Christmas time.
Micadyn: I will never forget that Christmas. Nick--being the amazing guy he is--took me on the one date every Utah girl dreams of during the holiday season: to see the Temple Square lights. Just think about it, cup of hot cocoa in my left hand, Nick's hand in my right, warm coats, and dazzling Christmas lights enveloping the Temple I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl. Perfect date? Wait…there’s more, it wouldn’t be a perfect date without the perfect kiss to end the night, right? You better believe it. He drives me home in his perfect car (the one I totaled last month…but that is a whole other story), walks me to my doorstep, and leans in for the kiss I’ll never forget. Our second kiss. Perfect date? I think you know the answer to that.
The story only gets better from here. It’s Christmas Eve and I’m minding my own business, not expecting Nick to stop by with a gift; Nope, I’m not expecting that at all. What a surprise! I was thrilled and distraught at the same time. I didn’t have a gift for him. What kind of person does that make me? Here is this sweet handsome guy--sweeping me off my feet--and I had nothing for him! So what did I do? I did the only thing left to do…I made him a CD of all my favorite songs. Dorky, and a little embarrassing considering he already had half the songs…but I took it over anyway. It was better than nothing. It was Christmas day, I curled my hair, and I got all ready; I secretly wanted to look cute. I am such a girl… So I made my way over there drove through the blizzard, walked up to his front door and I knocked. I distinctly remember being fairly nervous. I heard the lock twist, the door slid open and there was Nick in his white undershirt and pajamas. What a handsome sight! He looked so shocked to see me, so I gave him a little hug, handed him my present (that he very fortunately appreciated considering what it was!) and I was out the door. I left feeling pretty good, ‘Tis the season indeed!
Nick: "Tis the season indeed" up until new years eve. Yeah, I'll be honest I wanted a kiss... and unfortunately we weren't able to that night. Micadyn is intimidating... She's sitting right next me right now and I can't think of what to write. Nothin like a good ol case of writers block! It wasn't until a few days later when Micadyn and I finally got together again. The night was coming to an end and my sister McKelle was over at her house hanging out with Micadyn's little sister Brigitte. So I was there to pick her up and Micadyn walked me downstairs and before we made it all the way she grabbed me really fast and gave me the cutest kiss ever. After that point we were inseparable. That was a great kickoff to the 2009 year! That next spring we went to the Valentines dance, Morp, and Prom, totaling four dances that we went to together that school year.
I must admit, i'm a dang lucky guy to be able to pull off going to that many dances with Micadyn Judkins! I'm gonna go off subject here for a minute and talk about when I asked Micadyn to be my girl friend... It was right at the beginning of spring, Micadyn and I were in my basement watching "Never Back Down." Great movie to be watching when you pop the big question right? :s. Anyways, we were down there watching the movie, and we had another great kiss, so I thought it would be the prime opportunity to ask her if she would be my girl friend. So very timidly, sweating, and scared as could be... I said, "will you be my girlfriend?" We sat there for what seemed a good 20 minutes. In reality it was probably only 10 seconds when she said, "I want to, I just don't know what my parents would say... Let me get back to you k?" So I felt pretty low after that, and unsure what to do. I didn't know what to say because i totally thought she was just making something up and she didn't really want to be my girl friend. But come to find out, she really was telling the truth. No offense to Drew and Cari (Micadyn's Parents) but they were a little strict and a little intimidating. Luckily they softened up and it was maybe a month later when Micadyn asked me if we're together. So I guess since that moment we've been "official."
Micadyn: We've been "official" ever since! We just celebrated 2 years together this January! And boy do we have stories to tell—everything from rather embarrassing to rather romantic. Check out our other blogs to hear about our adventures. :)
